Most people who follow this website will know that at one time in my life I was a seller on eBay. Fact is, I was a very successful seller on eBay, and I made a lot of money doing it.
Actually, you may not know that there were two times in my life when I was an eBay seller. I first started selling on eBay when it was nearly a brand new site, back in the late 90s. I did it for several years, but when I moved to the Philippines in 2000, I decided to give it up, because I just felt it was too difficult, nearly impossible, to sell successfully while living in the Philippines. However, in 2002, I got the itch, and I needed the money, so I decided to jump back in and see if I could make a success out of selling on eBay from the Philippines. I did it, and I did it very successfully, but that is a story for another time.
After a few years of selling with great success from here in the Philippines, I decided to give it up again, though, because it was a huge amount of work, and I had already developed other income streams that were plenty to fulfill my financial needs. Sometimes, though, I have a longing to get back on eBay, but it always comes down to the fact that it is simply not a simple task to do it from another country.
Recently here on the Virtual Earner Blog, I did an interview with Dave Conner, author of Your Neighborhood Gold Mine. Dave has been a friend for a number of years now, and we share similar interests in business, which is our primary connection. Dave has been telling me about something he has been doing on eBay for a while now, and it interested me, so I wanted to learn more. Dave had learned his eBay system from a friend of his named Ronald, or Ron for short. Basically, Dave was selling items on eBay and using Amazon as a drop shipper to fulfill the orders. It really intrigued me, because I could see no reason why this would not be doable from the Philippines, and solve a lot of logistical problems. It sounded perfect!
I wanted to learn more!
So, I talked with Dave and he said that Ron might be interested in doing a video interview with me. I was all ears! So, we got everything set up and the three of us – Dave, Ron and I – all met up on Skype to talk it over and record the video for publication here on my site. Well, unfortunately, we had some technical problems with the video. Thankfully, though, I was able to salvage the audio portion of the interview, so we will make a podcast out of it, and you can listen in on our Skype call by using the audio player just below this paragraph. Frankly, the even the audio is not perfect, but it is not too bad either, and I think most people won’t find listening to be a problem.

Now, let me say, when I had talked with Dave previously, I didn’t really know what this whole system was. I had never heard of DS Domination at that time. When I started hearing about it from Ron, I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical. DS Domination is basically a Multi-Level-Marketing type company in it’s setup. One of these deals where you get people to sign up under you and you get a cut of what they spend and such – a commission. I have never been much of a fan of this type of business. However, given that I have a lot of experience selling on eBay, I decided to keep an open mind, because the system that was described to me sounded quite good. In fact, it seems like a perfect way for somebody living overseas to sell with great success on eBay.
Being able to use Amazon to drop ship what you sell is really a great solution. Firstly, Amazon has an amazing product selection. Just about any item on earth can be found on Amazon, and being able to select from every item that Amazon sells to create your item assortment for eBay sales just seems fantastic.
What about the drop shipping?
Over the years, many people have asked me what I thought about using drop shipping companies to do eBay sales, and I have always been against it. I wanted no part of it.
For the simple reason that if I allow somebody else to handle the shipping of everything I sell, I am putting my reputation in their hands. When there is some company that I have never heard of, and know little about doing the shipping of the items that I sell, well, I just have a problem with that. I don’t have any desire to let a company that I know little about control what others think of me. If they fail to ship, ship inferior products, or are slow in shipping, that would reflect on me, and that is not good. It takes control of my own reputation out of my hands.
But, I feel different about Amazon. Amazon is very customer service oriented, and they are very good at what they do. With Amazon handling shipping and fulfillment, I have no worries or issues with that.
So, the MLM aspect of DSDomination does not excite me, but what they are doing excites me greatly. I am seriously considering getting into this myself, and I really believe that I could use this system to make some serious money on eBay. Based on my past selling experience using eBay, I feel that it would not be difficult to make in the 5 figures every month using DSDomination. But, I would also be keeping an eye on the whole MLM aspect, to be honest.
After hearing about this whole thing, I did debate whether to present it on my site, due to the MLM aspect. However, in the end, I decided that I would go with it, and each person listening and reading can decide what is right for them. I have overcome many of my reservations, and reading online, I find a lot of positives about DSDomination. I found very little negative about the company in my search online.
What do you think? I feel that the system sounds fantastic, and I can’t find any obvious reasons why it would not be good.
